We pride ourselves here at Le Paper, Inc. as being completely self contained in that we do not outsource any of the papermaking or print processes. Starting from beating cotten rags into pulp (base ingredient for paper making) to the printing and die cutting of the final personalized product - all of it is done here in our paper making studio and print shop. We make our own paper from recycled cotton using our hollander beater. (Some papermaking companies cut corners and simply buy paper off the shelf and then cut them up in a blender resulting in a lower quality paper). We use bio-friendly pigments to mix our own unique brands of colors formulated completely by the artists at Le Paper. We also grow our own non-GMO botanicals for our Seme line of papers. Finally, all of our handmade papers are internally sized for printability so that the ink does not bleed. Sizing is an ingredient commonly found in the ocean and is safe for consumption (it's the same stuff used to make Jello.) Once the paper is made, we press 90% of the water out using a 20 ton hydralic hand-cranking press and then load into our dry boxes for final finishing.
